SOPHIE & CHARLIE | THE GREAT BARN | DEVON WEDDING

I love a winter wedding! Sophie and Charlie’s wedding at The Great Barn in December was no different, it was such an amazing day from start to finish. 

I started off at the church where the guys were meeting. Charlie was a little nervous but his groomsmen were there to keep him relaxed – there was even a quick chance for a “Cheers!” and a drink outside the church before Sophie arrived.

The service was a super special one, with Charlie’s dad conducting the wedding ceremony; it was a really beautiful touch and made the ceremony that bit more personal too. They left the church to have mince pies and port with their guests outside before walking down the church path under a shower of confetti, into their wedding car and onto The Great Barn.

On arrival at The Great Barn, Sophie and Charlie joined their guests for drinks and canapes whilst being serenaded by a saxophonist who gave out the most chilled vibes you can imagine! 

We were blessed with dry weather, so we managed to take some formal group shots outside in front of The Great Barn’s huge doors. Then, whilst all the guests were taking their seats I took the bride and groom for some couples portraits around the grounds.

After four great speeches, providing lots of laughter from all of the guests, it was time to head back out of The Great Barn while it was set up for the evening’s party. With festoon lights and a firepit out in the courtyard there was an awesome atmosphere to the evening. This only continued when it was time to cut the cake and for Sophie and Charlie to take to the dance floor for their first dance. Bill Ding and The Skyscrapers were providing the music for the night and they really did bring the party! With the dance floor full from the second the first dance finished, it was set to be a great night.

I had an amazing day documenting Sophie and Charlie’s big day at The Great Barn, it was such a privilege to be part of their wedding day and to spend it with their friends and family.
