Laura & Sam’s Shilstone House wedding was one incredible day. The relaxed morning began with Laura and the girls preparing for the big day at the family home, near the church.  Laura had chosen to wear her mum’s wedding dress and the shots of her mum helping her dress are filled with emotion, pride and love. You could see how much it meant to Laura’s mum for her dress to be worn again by her own daughter on her wedding day.

The church was moments from the house, so Laura walked down with her bridesmaids, mum and father, who had come up to the house to join them. The ceremony was lovely, quite unique to a normal church wedding as Laura and Sam had got married a few weeks before in America. With Laura’s American heritage and her brother a Pastor, Laura and Sam were married by him on a mountain with just a few close friends. So the church ceremony was a blessing, with the warmth and beauty of all their family and friends celebrating with them.

With the inclement weather, the couple and their guests stayed cosily tucked away in the church for refreshments, relishing the celebrations.  Laura & Sam were able to take this leisurely time to welcome and get congratulated by their guests.

We then headed to the beautiful Shilstone House. The spacious house meant that all the guests could circulate to enjoy some drinks and canapes on arrival, along with the bride and groom. Once the weather cleared we got outdoors for some group photos of Laura & Sam and their guests and then had an opportunity for some couples portraits around this remarkable house.

The afternoon reception took place in Shilstone House’s marquee which was beautiful and light for the speeches. Sam & Laura gave a speech together, as well as Laura’s Father and the bestman. There was a lovely atmosphere in the afternoon, through the speeches and wedding breakfast, this carried on into the evening as Laura & Sam cut the cake and took their first dance.

It was an absolute pleasure photographing Laura & Sam’s Shilstone House wedding, documenting their day and their guests was brilliant.
