KATIE & SIMON | MARTINHOE MARQUEE | DEVON WEDDING

Katie & Simon’s marquee wedding on the north coast of Devon was a brilliant day, full of amazing people and an awesome atmosphere. Starting the morning off with Katie at her parent’s farm, where preparations were well underway with the marquee reception later on in the day at the same location. The girl’s morning was fairly relaxed with their hair and makeup looked after by two professionals they didn’t have too much to worry about. There were plenty of laughs and smiles throughout the morning whilst the girls looked forward to the day ahead.

The ceremony was being held at The Woolhanger, which is a stunning country house with incredible grounds and a stunning view. They had chosen to have their ceremony there in the beautiful music room, which was ample size for the large number of guests but also an incredible setting for the marriage. After the ceremony the guests joined Katie & Simon out on the patio to enjoy drinks and canapes in the sun overlooking beautiful countryside. This was a great time with many hugs, kisses and laughter from all in celebration of Katie & Simon getting married.

After a stunning confetti line the guests moved to the marquee whilst Katie, Simon and I walked down to the lake which is situated in The Woolhangers grounds. This time with just the two of them allowed me to capture some stunning couples portraits. With beautiful scenery and a couple who are really natural in front of the camera, these photos came out amazingly.

I always love a marquee wedding and with this one set in Katie’s parent’s farm, it was extra special to the couple. We had beautiful weather which allowed the guests to enjoy the space outside in the sun whilst having a drink.

After a few awesome speeches and some food the evening reception kicked off, with the sun going down the atmosphere changed as more guests arrived and the band started playing a set outside; the evening really had a festival feel to it. We made use of the beautiful light at sunset to capture more photos of Katie & Simon but then it was back to their guests where the bonfire had been lit and the festival style food was being served. The evening came to an end for me after I had captured Katie & Simon’s stunningly choreographed first dance and the guests joining them on the dance floor as the band, Bicycle Repair Man got everyone up and dancing.

This celebration was an incredible day to be a part of, I loved the whole day and the atmosphere in the evening was just awesome. As always it was such a pleasure to be part of this stunning wedding day.
