Sarah & Ross got married at Mount Edgecumbe House, Plymouth, Devon. It is a stunning house with absolutely amazing grounds; including a beach, beautiful gardens and some medieval ruins. Their whole day took place at this lovely venue with the morning and ceremony happening up at the main house. The reception took place in The Orangery with its gorgeous gardens and spacious large reception room.
Sarah & Ross’ beautiful Devon wedding started early at Mount Edgecumbe House, where Sarah was getting ready. She was there with her three bridesmaids having a really relaxed morning of preparations, in one of the delightful Mount Edgecumbe suites. It was a real pleasure to be there to document their day unfolding right from all the initial preparations.
The ceremony was very intimate, with their daughter joining them a number of times throughout, which made it extra special. After the ceremony the couple made their way out and were greeted by their guests with confetti ready in hand. The sun was shining over the spectacular views of Plymouth Sound from the front of Mount Edgecumbe, as the guests welcomed and congratulated the happy couple.
Before we took some time to take some formal group photos of family and friends, there were drinks and canapes for the guests to enjoy. With the spacious grounds golf buggies drove everyone down to The Orangery, where the reception was taking place. Whilst guests were making their way down to the reception, Sarah, Ross and myself took the time to capture some beautiful couples portraits around the grounds, we were driven around in a Landrover to get to some of more out of the way spots.
The Orangery had been decorated tastefully with lovely wedding favours and other thoughtful and fun items on the tables. A children’s table welcomed the younger guests with games and colouring. To entertain the adults they had hired Lewis Belcher who is an incredible magician, he totally wowed the guests with fun and mind boggling tricks.
The speeches took place after the wedding breakfast where Sarah’s father, Ross said some lovely words and the best man did a great job of making the guests laugh too.
The rest of the evening was an informal affair, with time for guests to chat and enjoy themselves in The Orangery and the beautiful gardens outside. The weather was lovely so the guests really did make the most of it and the gardens. I finished photographing after the first dance and a daddy daughter dance, both of which were full of love and such beautiful moments to photograph.
It was a beautiful wedding day with lovely guests, at an absolutely gorgeous venue and with a stunning bride and groom. As always it was a pleasure to be a part of it and to document it for Sarah and Ross. I hope to photograph more amazing Mount Edgecumbe House weddings in the future.
